So I live two blocks from a large and clearly quite busy police station in Northern California. So this is ancedotal, sure, but I see a lot of cops driving past day and night and every single one of them fails to signal because they’re all, and I do mean all, universally holding a cell phone up to the side of their head as they drive past.
Now I know that cops are allowed to do this, despite it being just as reckless as if they were all driving around with a 12 pack in the passenger seat, but never mind that for just a moment. I have a better question.
The cost of buying a police car is what, maybe $55,000 a car? They buy power but they also buy in bulk. That’s just for the car. Then we add in the surveillance equipment, the radios, the lojack, the life support equipment, the laptop, the shotguns, the fancy bits that allow them to keep the car running but won’t let you hop in and drive off without the fob in your pocket, the GPS tracking if it happens anyway, the RADAR, the LIDAR, the light bar, the sirens....
Yet there’s no bluetooth hands free support?
Come on now. Who ya foolin?

I've never not seen a cop on a cell. Never. Doesn't make sense to me, either.

But we are both initiated...aren’t we Bruce?”

It’s probably the massive amount of marijuana in my system late on a Friday but wow you’ve given me a lot to consider.

Well I figured I’d toss in a Batman reference to coincide with your post title.
